Getting PDF tables into Excel
Bank statements, invoices, price lists and reports usually arrive as PDFs. Typing the figures into Excel cell by cell so you can total, filter or chart them is slow and error-prone.
The PDF to Excel converter reads every page of your PDF, detects the tables and writes them into an Excel workbook with their rows and columns. Text outside the tables is kept too, line by line on the same sheet. The output is an XLSX file that opens in Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc and Google Sheets.

How the Excel output is organised
One sheet per page: Each PDF page goes to its own worksheet named “Page_1”, “Page_2” and so on. A summary sheet lists the number of pages, tables and text blocks.
Ruled tables work best: Tables with drawn cell borders are detected automatically; the header row is formatted and borders are added. Tables aligned only with spaces may come through as lines of text in column A.
Numbers may arrive as text: Values are copied as they appear in the PDF. Before calculating, select the column and use Excel’s “Convert to Number” option or “Text to Columns”, and check the decimal separator.
No formulas: A PDF only contains the results, so the original Excel formulas cannot be recovered.
Scanned PDFs: Scanned pages have no selectable text, so no data can be extracted. Run the PDF OCR tool first; the data may then come through as lines of text rather than a table.

Privacy and automatic deletion
Your files are sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The result file is kept only briefly so you can download it: an automatic clean-up job runs every minute and permanently deletes files older than 10 minutes. We therefore recommend downloading your result as soon as it is ready.
The download link only works for the user or browser session that started the job, and your files are never shared with other users. Our job log stores only details such as the file name, size and type of operation, never the file itself.

How do I copy a table from PDF to Excel?
Upload your PDF, click “Convert to Excel” and download the XLSX file. Every detected table is written, with its rows and columns, to the worksheet for its page.
Which tables give the best results?
Digitally created PDF tables with visible cell borders give the most accurate results. Borderless tables may be converted as lines of text.
Why won’t Excel calculate my numbers?
Values may be imported as text exactly as they appear in the PDF. Select the column and use “Convert to Number” or “Text to Columns” to turn them into numbers.
Are formulas transferred?
No. A PDF only contains the results of formulas, so the values are transferred to Excel.
Can I convert a scanned invoice to Excel?
Scanned documents are images, so data cannot be extracted directly. Run the PDF OCR tool first; the table structure may not be fully preserved.
Can I open the result in Google Sheets?
Yes. Upload the XLSX file to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets, or use LibreOffice Calc or Numbers.
Are my files safe?
Files are uploaded over HTTPS; the original PDF is deleted when processing finishes and the Excel file is removed automatically within a few minutes.
