Why do PDF pages appear sideways or upside down?
Scanned documents, pages photographed with a phone and turned into a PDF, and files merged from different sources often appear sideways or upside down. Rotating a page in a PDF reader usually only changes the current view: when you close and reopen the file or send it to someone, the page is sideways again.
The Dönüştür.net Rotate PDF tool changes the orientation of the pages permanently inside the file. Only the orientation setting of each page is updated; text, images, fonts and links are not reprocessed. That's why there is no quality loss and the text stays selectable. You can rotate all pages with one click or look at the page thumbnails and turn each page individually. On our server, the whole process takes only a few seconds.

How to rotate a PDF in 3 steps
Upload your PDF: Drag your file into the area above or click to select it. Thumbnails of the pages appear in your browser right away; the file is not sent to the server for this preview.
Choose the direction: Under “Rotate all pages”, select Left, Right or Upside down. To turn only certain pages, click their thumbnails: each click rotates the page 90° to the right, and a Shift-click rotates it to the left. Use “Don't rotate any” to start over.
Rotate and download: Click “Rotate PDF” and save your new PDF with “Download file”. “rotated” is added to the file name, so Contract.pdf becomes Contract_rotated.pdf.

When is it useful?
Scanned documents: Fixing pages that were placed on the scanner upside down or sideways. In double-sided scans the back pages often come out upside down; you can fix them all in one go.
Documents photographed with a phone: Straightening invoices, receipts and forms that were turned into a PDF with a phone camera.
Landscape tables and drawings: Making landscape tables, charts or technical drawings inside a portrait document readable.
Merged files: Fixing pages with mixed-up orientations in PDFs merged from different sources, all at once.
Presenting and printing: Making sure every page of a PDF faces the right way when it's projected or printed. It also helps with files that mix landscape slides and portrait pages.

Rotation quality and limitations
No quality loss: Pages are not recreated or turned into images; only the orientation setting changes. The file size stays almost the same.
Added to the current orientation: The angle you choose is added to the page's current orientation. What you see in the thumbnails is what the downloaded file will look like. For example, if you add another 90° to a page that is already rotated by 90°, the page ends up upside down.
Text and links preserved: Selectable text, bookmarks, links and form fields stay exactly as they are.
Long documents: PDFs with up to 5,000 pages can be rotated. The preview shows up to 400 pages; in longer files, all pages are rotated together in the direction you choose.
Encrypted PDFs: PDFs that have an opening password, or whose owner has restricted changes with a password, cannot be rotated. If you know the password, unlock the file first with the Unlock PDF tool, then rotate it.
Size limit: Up to 25 MB per file. You can split larger files into parts first with the Split PDF tool.

Privacy and automatic deletion
Your files are sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The result file is kept only briefly so you can download it: an automatic clean-up job runs every minute and permanently deletes files older than 10 minutes. We therefore recommend downloading your result as soon as it is ready.
The download link only works for the user or browser session that started the job, and your files are never shared with other users. Our job log stores only details such as the file name, size and type of operation, never the file itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is rotating a PDF free?
Yes. The tool is free and works without an account. Guests have a 24-hour usage allowance per tool; a free account lets you process more files.
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. The page orientation is changed inside the file, so the pages appear in their new orientation whatever program or device you open the PDF on. The pages also face the right way when you email or print the rotated file.
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. After choosing your PDF, reset all pages with “Don't rotate any” and click only the thumbnail of the page you want to turn. Each click rotates the page 90° to the right; Shift-click to rotate it to the left.
Does rotating reduce the quality?
No. The content of the pages is not reprocessed; only each page's orientation setting changes. Text stays selectable and images keep the same resolution. The file size stays almost the same, too.
Can I use it with the keyboard?
Yes. Move between the thumbnails with the arrow keys, rotate a page to the right with Enter or Space, and to the left with Shift+Enter. Screen readers announce each page's new orientation.
Can I rotate an encrypted PDF?
PDFs with an opening password cannot be rotated. If you know the password, first unlock the file with the Unlock PDF tool, then rotate it; afterwards you can encrypt it again with the Protect PDF tool if you like.
Is my PDF stored?
No. Your uploaded file is deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes. The new PDF is kept only so you can download it and is permanently deleted automatically within about 10 minutes.
