Why change the page size of a PDF?
Printing an A3 plan on the office A4 printer, shrinking an A4 document for an A5 booklet, turning a US Letter file into A4, or printing a PDF stitched together from different sources where every page is a different size: in each case the pages need to be brought to one paper size. Printers don't always get this right; edges can be cut off or pages can slide into a corner.
This tool fits each page to the size you choose (A4, A3, A5, Letter, Legal or the size of the first page) without distorting it, and centres it. Portrait pages go on portrait paper and landscape pages on landscape paper; if you like, you can force all pages into one orientation.
Content isn't redrawn, only scaled: text stays sharp and selectable. If a page's proportions differ from the new paper, nothing is cut off; white space is left at the edges instead.

How to resize PDF pages in 3 steps
Upload your PDF: Drag your file into the area above or click to select it (up to 25 MB and 500 pages).
Choose the size: Click the “A3 → A4” or “A4 → A5” preset, or pick A4, A3, A5, Letter, Legal or “First page”; change the orientation and margin if needed.
Download: Click “Create PDF”; a PDF with every page in the new size is downloaded.

When is it useful?
A3 to A4: Printing architectural plans, posters or large spreadsheets on an A4 printer without anything being cut off.
A4 to A5: Printing a document in a smaller format, or preparing pages for a pocket booklet or an A5 planner.
Evening out page sizes: Bringing scanned, downloaded and merged pages to a uniform A4 so you can send a tidy file.
Letter and Legal: Adapting US Letter or Legal documents to A4, or A4 documents to Letter for colleagues in the US.
Applications and official forms: Meeting upload rules such as “documents must be A4” or “US Letter only”.

Options, quality and limits
Sizes: A4 (210 × 297 mm), A3 (297 × 420 mm), A5 (148 × 210 mm), Letter (216 × 279 mm, 8.5 × 11 in), Legal (216 × 356 mm, 8.5 × 14 in) or the size of the first page. The presets set up A3 → A4 and A4 → A5 in a single click.
Orientation: With “Automatic”, each page keeps its own orientation; “Portrait” or “Landscape” forces every page the same way. Rotated pages are treated the way they appear on screen.
Proportions and edges: Pages are fitted with their proportions kept and centred; nothing is cut off. You can leave a 5 or 12 mm margin if you like. The visible area (CropBox) is used, so on cropped pages the cropped-off part doesn't come back.
Quality: When shrinking from A3 to A4 or from A4 to A5, content scales down to about 71%. Text stays vector and selectable; links are no longer clickable and form fields are flattened onto the page.
Limits: Up to 25 MB and 500 pages per file. For encrypted PDFs, use the Unlock PDF tool first.

Privacy and automatic deletion
Your files are sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The result file is kept only briefly so you can download it: an automatic clean-up job runs every minute and permanently deletes files older than 10 minutes. We therefore recommend downloading your result as soon as it is ready.
The download link only works for the user or browser session that started the job, and your files are never shared with other users. Our job log stores only details such as the file name, size and type of operation, never the file itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the text still readable after shrinking A3 to A4?
Going from A3 to A4, everything shrinks to about 71%: 12 pt text comes down to around 8.5 pt. Normal text and tables are easy to read; very small dimension labels and footnotes can get harder. Because the content stays vector, the print doesn't get blurry.
How do I make pages of different sizes the same?
Choose a target size such as A4: every page is fitted to A4. To keep the document's own size, choose “First page”; the other pages are then brought to the size of the first page. If you want all pages in the same orientation, set the orientation to “Portrait” or “Landscape”.
Will any part of the page be cut off?
No. The page is fitted to the new paper without distortion. If the proportions differ (for example from Letter to A4), thin white strips are left at the edges; no content is cropped.
What happens when I turn A4 into A5?
Each A4 page is scaled down to about 71% and placed on A5 paper. You can print the result on A5 paper, or use the booklet or “2 per sheet” layout to put two A5 pages on one A4 sheet.
What happens to landscape pages?
With “Automatic” orientation, landscape pages go on landscape paper and portrait pages on portrait paper. If you choose “Portrait”, landscape pages are scaled down to fit on portrait paper.
Does the text stay selectable?
Yes. Pages aren't turned into images, only scaled; text stays vector, selectable and searchable.
Are my files stored?
No. Your uploaded PDF is deleted from the server as soon as processing finishes. The new PDF is kept only so you can download it and is deleted automatically within about 10 minutes.
