Why convert DWG to PDF?
DWG is AutoCAD’s native drawing format, and DXF is an open format for exchanging data between CAD programs. Opening either one usually requires CAD software – but when you send a drawing to a client, site team, municipality or print shop, they most likely only have a PDF reader.
The DWG/DXF to PDF converter processes your drawing on our server and produces a PDF that opens on any device. You don’t need AutoCAD, DraftSight or any other CAD software – just upload and convert.

How to convert DWG to PDF in 3 steps

Convert: Click “Convert to PDF”. DWG files are first converted to DXF and then to PDF; large drawings can take a little while.

Supported files and limits
Formats: DWG and DXF are supported. DWG files are converted to DXF with the open-source LibreDWG, and the drawing is rendered to a vector PDF with the open-source ezdxf. Each paper layout becomes its own page; without layouts, model space is fitted to an A3 page. Light colors that would be unreadable on white paper (yellow, cyan) are darkened.
Size limit: Up to 100 MB per drawing.
Compatibility: Very recent DWG versions, external references (Xrefs), custom SHX fonts and some complex objects may not come through perfectly. If you run into problems, save the drawing as DXF or as an older DWG version in your CAD program and try again.
Scale and layout: The drawing is transferred with its proportions intact. For sheets that must print at a specific scale (e.g. 1:50 or 1:100), check the scale in the output – your CAD software’s own plot settings are better for exact-scale output.
Layers: A PDF fixes the appearance of the drawing; CAD layers may not be toggleable individually in the PDF.

Privacy and automatic deletion
Your files are sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The result file is kept only briefly so you can download it: an automatic clean-up job runs every minute and permanently deletes files older than 10 minutes. We therefore recommend downloading your result as soon as it is ready.
The download link only works for the user or browser session that started the job, and your files are never shared with other users. Our job log stores only details such as the file name, size and type of operation, never the file itself.

The drawing’s proportions are kept. If you need to print at a specific paper scale, we recommend checking the scale in the PDF.
Are my files safe?
Files are uploaded over HTTPS; your drawing is deleted when processing finishes and the PDF is removed from the server automatically within a few minutes.
