How do you read a QR code without a phone or an app?
QR codes are no longer just on posters; they turn up in emails, PDF invoices, presentation slides and screenshots. When the code is on your computer screen, scanning it with your phone is awkward and usually unnecessary. This tool reads the code in an image or PDF right in your browser: just drop the file or paste a screenshot, with no app to install.
Everything is read on your device. The image or PDF is not sent to our server; the page is served in a way that technically prevents it from connecting to the outside. If an image contains several codes, all of them are found, and each one is marked with a numbered frame in the preview.
A link from a QR code is never opened automatically. First you see the domain in bold, then any warning signs worth your attention: an unencrypted connection, an IP address instead of a domain name, a link-shortening service, look-alike characters, or a domain that carries the name of a well-known bank but does not belong to that bank. For Wi-Fi codes the network name and password, and for business cards the contact details, are shown separately and can be copied.

Read a QR code in 3 steps
Add the image: Drop or choose the photo, screenshot or PDF with the QR code. If you took a screenshot, just come back to this page and paste it with Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac).
Check the result: Every code found is numbered. For links, the domain is shown in bold with any warnings right below it; for a Wi-Fi code you see the network name, the security type and the password, which stays hidden.
Copy it, or open it on purpose: Copy the content with one tap. If you want to open a link, the button exists only for web addresses and opens the address in a new tab.

When is it useful?
A QR code on your computer: Read a code in an email, on a web page or in a presentation without holding your phone camera up to the screen.
Check before you open: See which site a QR code sent to you about a parcel, a fine, an invoice or a payment would take you to, without opening the link.
See a Wi-Fi password: Read the password from the Wi-Fi QR code on your own router's label or the one your phone shares, and type it into another device.
Codes in PDFs: Read the QR code on a Turkish e-invoice (e-Fatura, e-Arşiv), a ticket, a contract or a letter from a public authority, page by page.
Barcodes from photos: Copy the number of an EAN-13 or Code 128 barcode from a photo of a product label.
Business card and event codes: Download the contact in a vCard QR code as a .vcf file and add it to your contacts.

Scanning tips, safety and limits
A clear image: The larger and sharper the code, the easier it is to read. If a blurry or very small code won't scan, crop the image around the code or try a closer screenshot.
Difficult images: For tilted, rotated, inverted (a light code on a dark background) and low-resolution codes, the tool scans the image again at different scales and with extra processing. A code that is largely cut off or covered cannot be read.
Link warnings: The warnings are signs to be careful, not a final verdict. No warning does not mean the site is safe; especially on pages that ask for payment details, passwords or ID details, compare the address with the known address of your bank or the organisation.
Short links: Services such as bit.ly and some QR services first send you to their own address and redirect you from there to another site. The final address cannot be seen without opening the link, which is why this is pointed out separately.
Barcode types: QR codes and linear barcodes (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, ITF) are read in every browser. Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec are only read in browsers that recognise these formats themselves (for example Chrome on Android).
No camera: This page does not use your camera; it only reads the image or PDF you give it. In PDFs, the first 50 pages are scanned.

Privacy and automatic deletion
This tool does not send your file to our server: all processing happens in your browser, on your device. The page is served with a security policy (Content-Security-Policy) that technically prevents the file's contents from being sent anywhere; no analytics or advertising scripts run on this page.
The result file is also created on your device and only you download it. It is cleared from the browser's memory when you close the tab or choose “New file”. Our server keeps no file name or content record of this processing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I scan a QR code on my computer?
Take a screenshot of the code (Win + Shift + S on Windows, ⌘ + Shift + 4 on a Mac) and paste it on this page with Ctrl+V or ⌘V. If the code is in a file, you can simply drag and drop the file. No app or browser extension is needed.
Is a QR code safe, and how can I check it without opening it?
The QR code itself is harmless, but the address it leads to may be a fake site. This tool does not open the link; it shows the domain in bold and lists signs such as an unencrypted connection, an IP address, a short link, look-alike characters or an unrelated domain carrying a bank's name. If a code comes with a story about a parcel, a traffic fine or a refund, do not enter card details or passwords.
How do I see the password in a Wi-Fi QR code?
Drop the image of the Wi-Fi QR code; the network name, security type and password appear on separate lines. The password stays hidden until you press “Show” and can be copied with one tap. Use it only for your own network or networks you are allowed to use.
How do I read a QR code in a PDF?
Just drop the PDF file. The tool renders the first 50 pages one by one and finds every code on each page; the result tells you which page each code is on. Password-protected PDFs cannot be opened; remove the password first.
Can a barcode be read from a photo?
Yes. EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, Code 128, Code 39 and ITF barcodes are read from photos, and the number can be copied. Results are best when the barcode is sharp, straight and fills most of the frame. Note that a number starting with 869 does not mean the product was made in Türkiye; it only shows that the number was issued by GS1 Türkiye.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Images and PDFs are read in your browser; the page is served with a security policy that allows no outside connections, and no advertising or analytics scripts are loaded on this page. Everything is gone when you close the tab.
What should I do if the code won't scan?
Take a screenshot that shows the code larger and sharper, or crop the image around the code. If the photo has glare, shadows or blur, take it again. If the three large squares in the corners of the code are not visible, or part of the code is cut off, it cannot be read.
What if there are several QR codes in one image?
All of them are read. Each code is marked with a numbered frame in the preview and listed under the same number; pointing at a result card also highlights where that code is in the image. Use “Copy all” to get all the contents in one go.
