Why do photos get cropped?
Social media apps and profile picture slots expect certain ratios: an Instagram post is square or 4:5, stories and Reels are 9:16, a YouTube thumbnail is 16:9. If your photo doesn't match, the app crops it automatically, and a person, text or product near the edge drops out of the frame.
When you fit a photo without cropping, the whole photo is placed inside the frame and the remaining space is filled. The most popular way is to use a blurred copy of the same photo as the background; you can also choose a solid colour or white or black borders.
Dönüştür.net's tool processes your photos in your browser: you choose the ratio, drag and zoom to position the photo, and download with one tap. You can prepare up to 20 photos with the same settings and get them as a ZIP; your photos are not sent to a server.

When is it used?
Instagram posts: Turning a landscape or portrait photo into a square (1080 × 1080) or 4:5 (1080 × 1350) post without cropping.
Stories and Reels: Bringing a landscape photo to 9:16 story size (1080 × 1920) with a blurred background above and below.
WhatsApp profile picture: Fitting a photo into a square so that a face or logo isn't cut off in the round display.
Business accounts: Preparing product photos in batches with the same ratio and background colour.
YouTube and presentations: Placing a portrait phone photo on a 16:9 thumbnail or slide image.
Prints and albums: Preparing a photo in a custom ratio (such as 3:2 or 5:7) with white borders.

Sizes, quality and privacy
Preset sizes: 1:1 = 1080 × 1080, 4:5 = 1080 × 1350, 9:16 = 1080 × 1920, 16:9 = 1920 × 1080, WhatsApp profile = 640 × 640 pixels. With a custom ratio, the short side is 1080 pixels.
Blurred background: The background is an enlarged, heavily blurred copy of the same photo; your photo stays sharp in the middle. If you choose a solid colour, the tool suggests the dominant colours of your photo.
No cropping: In the starting position the whole photo is visible. If you zoom in, the edges may go past the frame; “Reset” always brings back the whole photo.
Quality: JPG output is saved at high quality (0.9); PNG is lossless but larger. Very large photos are first scaled down to suit phone browser limits; the output size is still exact.
Location data is removed: The resulting files contain no EXIF data such as camera, date or GPS location.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Instagram crop my photo?
Instagram uses ratios between 1.91:1 and 4:5 for posts and 9:16 for stories. If your photo is outside that range, it gets cropped. If you fit the photo to a suitable ratio beforehand without cropping, nothing is cut off when you post it.
What is the best photo size for Instagram?
For portrait posts, 4:5 (1080 × 1350 pixels) takes up the most space in the feed; square posts use 1080 × 1080, and stories and Reels use 9:16 (1080 × 1920). This tool produces these sizes exactly.
Why does my WhatsApp profile picture get cut off?
WhatsApp takes your profile picture as a square and shows it as a circle, so the corners are hidden. The “WhatsApp” option fits the photo into a 640 × 640 square and shows the circle in the preview; keep the important part inside the circle.
Blurred background or solid colour?
A blurred background continues the photo's colours, so it looks natural and is the most popular choice. For product photos or a corporate look, a solid colour or white borders look cleaner.
Can I fit several photos at once?
Yes, you can choose up to 20 photos. The ratio, background and format apply to all of them; you can set the position and zoom for each photo separately. The result downloads as a single ZIP file.
Will my photos lose quality?
The photo is resampled to the size you choose and saved as a high-quality JPG (0.9). If you want a lossless result, choose PNG. Apps also apply their own compression when you upload.
Are my photos uploaded, and is location data kept?
No. The photos are processed in your browser and are not sent to a server. The resulting files contain no location or camera data (EXIF).
