Why remove a PDF password?
Banks, mobile providers, insurers and other organisations often send statements, bills and reports as password-protected PDFs. Typing the password every time you open them, and archiving, merging, printing or forwarding them to your accountant, quickly gets tedious. Creating an unlocked copy of a PDF whose password you know makes all of this easier.
The Dönüştür.net Unlock PDF tool removes your file's opening password and any restrictions such as printing or copying, and creates an unlocked copy. An important note: this tool does not crack passwords, does not guess them and does not use trial and error. It only opens the file with the correct password you enter. If you don't know the password, you need to ask the person or organisation that sent you the document.

How to remove a PDF password in 3 steps
Upload your encrypted PDF: Drag your file into the area above or click to select it. Files can be up to 25 MB.
Type the password: Enter the password you use to open the PDF. Mind upper- and lower-case letters; the eye icon lets you see what you typed. If the password is wrong, you can try again without choosing your file again.
Unlock and download: Click “Remove password” and save your unlocked PDF with “Download file”. “unlocked” is added to the file name, so Bank Statement.pdf becomes Bank Statement_unlocked.pdf.

What you should know about removing passwords
Only with the correct password: The tool does not crack or guess passwords. To prevent abuse, at most 10 wrong attempts per 15 minutes are allowed from the same connection and session; wrong attempts don't count against your daily allowance.
Opening and permissions passwords: For PDFs with an opening password, either the opening password or the owner (permissions) password is accepted, and all restrictions are removed as well. For PDFs that open without a password but restrict printing or copying, the owner (permissions) password is needed to remove the restrictions.
Your password is not stored: The password you enter is used only in the server's memory during processing; it is never written to a database, a log file or disk.
Content unchanged: Pages are not reprocessed; text, images, links and form fields stay exactly as they are. Only the encryption is removed.
Supported encryption: PDFs encrypted with AES-256, AES-128 and legacy RC4 can be opened. For digitally signed documents, removing the password may invalidate the signature.
Responsibility: Use this tool only for documents that belong to you or that you are authorised to open. Up to 25 MB per file.

Privacy and automatic deletion
Your files are sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes. The result file is kept only briefly so you can download it: an automatic clean-up job runs every minute and permanently deletes files older than 10 minutes. We therefore recommend downloading your result as soon as it is ready.
The download link only works for the user or browser session that started the job, and your files are never shared with other users. Our job log stores only details such as the file name, size and type of operation, never the file itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is removing a PDF password free?
Yes. The tool is free and works without an account. Guests have a 24-hour usage allowance per tool; a free account lets you process more files.
I don't know the password. Can you still open it?
No. This tool does not crack or guess passwords and does not use trial and error; it only opens the file with the correct password. Ask the person or organisation that sent the document for the password. For documents from banks and mobile providers, the email that came with the document or the provider's website usually explains how the password is made up.
Is the password I enter saved?
No. Your password exists in the server's memory only for the few seconds it takes to unlock the file; it is never written to a database, log files or disk and is discarded as soon as the process ends.
How many times can I try?
If you mistype the password, you can try again without choosing your file again. To prevent abuse, at most 10 wrong attempts within 15 minutes are allowed; if you reach this limit, try again after 15 minutes. Wrong attempts don't count against your daily allowance.
The PDF opens but I can't print it. Will this tool help?
PDFs like this are protected only by a permissions (owner) password instead of an opening password. If you know the permissions password, this tool can remove the printing and copying restrictions; without it, the restrictions are not removed.
Does the quality of the unlocked PDF change?
No. Pages are not reprocessed; only the encryption is removed. Text, images and links stay exactly as they are.
Is my PDF stored?
No. Your uploaded file is used only in memory during processing and is not saved to disk. The unlocked PDF is kept only so you can download it and is permanently deleted automatically within about 10 minutes.
