Contact files contain other people's personal data (name, phone number, email address). This tool processes the file on your device and sends it nowhere; use the resulting file only for lawful purposes.

01

How do you get an Excel list onto your phone?

For a teacher who wants parents' numbers on their phone, a shop owner adding customers to their contacts or a community leader who needs to reach residents, typing hundreds of numbers one by one takes hours. Yet the list is usually already sitting in an Excel file.

The Excel to Contacts tool recognises the name and phone columns in your Excel (XLSX) or CSV file and writes every contact into one VCF (vCard) file. When you open that file on an iPhone or an Android phone, all the contacts are added at once. Phone numbers are put into the international format (+90 for Turkey by default), and names with special letters are kept exactly as they are.

Because contact lists contain other people's personal data, the conversion happens entirely in your browser; your file is not sent to our server. You can convert up to 20,000 contacts at a time.

02

How to move an Excel list into your contacts in 3 steps

  1. Choose your file: Drag your Excel (XLSX) or CSV file with name and phone columns into the area above or click to select it.

  2. Match the columns: The tool recognises headings such as “Name”, “Phone”, “Mobile” and “Email” by itself; correct any column that was matched wrongly. If you like, add text before each name, such as “Parent -”, and a group name, then click “Convert”.

  3. Download the VCF and open it on your phone: Send the downloaded .vcf file to your phone and open it. On iPhone, tap the option to add the contacts; on Android, use the import option of the Contacts app.

03

When is it useful?

  • Parent and student lists: Adding the parents' numbers from a class list to your phone contacts in one go.

  • Customer lists: Moving the customer numbers a shop, estate agent or hairdresser keeps in Excel onto the phone.

  • Club and community announcements: Adding a list of members or residents to your contacts so that announcements are easy to share.

  • Event and course participants: Saving the participants from a CSV file downloaded from a registration form to your contacts.

  • Switching phones: Restoring contacts you backed up in Excel onto a new phone.

  • Bulk import into Google Contacts: Adding contacts to your account by uploading the VCF file in the import section of Google Contacts.

04

How are numbers and names transferred?

  • Numbers in +90 format: Spaces, dashes, dots and brackets are removed; numbers such as “0532 123 45 67” or “5321234567” become “+905321234567”. Numbers starting with 90 or 00 are recognised too. For another country's numbers, change the country code.

  • Faulty rows are listed: Numbers with missing digits or that cannot be read (for example numbers Excel turned into scientific notation such as “5,32E+09”) are written as they are and listed on screen with their row numbers, so you can check them.

  • Names are kept: The VCF file is written in UTF-8 in the vCard 3.0 format that iPhone and Android read without problems; letters such as Ç, Ö and Ü are not broken.

  • Supported files: Excel (.xlsx) and CSV (separated by semicolons, commas or tabs; UTF-8 or Windows-1254). Save old .xls files as .xlsx in Excel first. For files with several sheets you can choose the sheet.

  • Identical contacts: Rows whose name, number and email are exactly the same are written once. Your phone may also offer to merge similar contacts.

  • Personal data: Contact files contain other people's personal data (name, phone number, email address). This tool processes the file on your device and sends it nowhere; use the resulting file only for lawful purposes.

Privacy and automatic deletion

This tool does not send your file to our server: all processing happens in your browser, on your device. The page is served with a security policy (Content-Security-Policy) that technically prevents the file's contents from being sent anywhere; no analytics or advertising scripts run on this page.

The result file is also created on your device and only you download it. It is cleared from the browser's memory when you close the tab or choose “New file”. Our server keeps no file name or content record of this processing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add a VCF file to an iPhone?

Send the VCF file to yourself by email, AirDrop or iCloud Drive and open it on the iPhone. When you tap the option to add the contacts on the screen that opens, all contacts in the file are added to your address book.

How do I import a VCF file on an Android phone?

Download the file to your phone, open Settings > Import in the Contacts app and choose the .vcf file. On some phones tapping the file is enough; you can choose whether the contacts are saved on the phone or in your Google account.

Can I add the contacts to Google Contacts?

Yes. Open Google Contacts on a computer and upload the VCF file with the “Import” option. The contacts are added to your Google account and appear on every phone linked to it.

I have an old .xls file. What should I do?

The old .xls format cannot be read directly. Open the file in Excel and save it with Save As > Excel Workbook (.xlsx), or export it as CSV, then upload it here.

Will the same contact appear twice?

Identical rows in the file are written only once. But if you import a contact that is already in your address book, the phone may create a second entry; you can merge them with the duplicate-merging feature of iPhone and Android.

Does it also add the contacts to a WhatsApp group?

No. The tool only prepares the VCF file for your phone's address book; it adds nobody to WhatsApp or any other app and sends no messages. Once the contacts are in your address book, WhatsApp shows them in its own list.

Is my list uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser, on your device; your file is not sent to our server and is not stored. The page is served with a security policy that technically prevents the file's content from being sent anywhere, and no analytics or advertising scripts run on this page.
