What is combining images side by side good for?
Putting two photos side by side is the quickest way to compare them: before / after shots, two products, two design options or the front and back of an ID card can be seen at a glance. When the photos are sent separately, that connection is lost.
Photos of different sizes are hard to put side by side; one ends up tall and the other short. This tool scales all the images to the same height, keeps their proportions and crops none of them. You can add space between them and a margin around them, and choose the colour of the gaps.
This page opens with the “Side by side” layout; one tap switches to the stacked or grid layout. Your images are processed in your browser and are not sent to a server.

Combine images side by side in 3 steps
Choose the images: Choose the two or more images you want to put side by side. Change the left-to-right order by dragging the images.
Set the spacing and background: For space between the images, increase “Spacing”; for a frame around the outer edge, increase “Margin”. Choose the background colour and output width.
Download: Press “Combine”; the side-by-side image downloads as a single file.

Who uses it, and for what?
Before / after comparison: Showing renovation, maintenance, hair, diet or photo editing results side by side.
Front and back of an ID card: Putting both sides of an ID card side by side when an application asks for a single image.
Product comparison: Showing two products, colour options or packaging at the same height.
Design options: Presenting two versions of a logo, poster or screen design to a client in one image.
Two screenshots: Sharing two phone screens or two steps of an app side by side.
Family and keepsake photos: Combining two photos that show how things changed over the years into one frame.

Sizes and tips
Same height: All images are scaled to the same height, their proportions are kept and none are cropped. Portrait and landscape photos can be used together.
Many images: The more images you line up side by side, the wider the result gets. For more than four images, the grid layout gives a more readable result.
Width: The output width can be 1080, 2048 or 4096 pixels or the original resolution; the height is calculated from the ratio.
ID card images: Only send a photo of your ID card where it's required, and only if it's required. If you need an A4 printout to use as a photocopy, the ID card copy tool is a better fit.
Format: JPG gives the best result for photos, PNG for text and screenshots. A transparent background is kept in PNG and WEBP.
Privacy: The work happens in your browser; your images aren't uploaded. The resulting file contains no location or camera data (EXIF).

Privacy and automatic deletion
This tool does not send your file to our server: all processing happens in your browser, on your device. The page is served with a security policy (Content-Security-Policy) that technically prevents the file's contents from being sent anywhere; no analytics or advertising scripts run on this page.
The result file is also created on your device and only you download it. It is cleared from the browser's memory when you close the tab or choose “New file”. Our server keeps no file name or content record of this processing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I put two photos side by side?
Choose the two photos; this page opens with the “Side by side” layout. Drag to choose which one goes on the left and press “Combine”. The two photos download as a single image at the same height.
What if the photos are different sizes?
They're all scaled to the same height; their widths change according to their own proportions. No photo is cropped or squashed.
Can I put a line or space between the two photos?
Yes. Add 0–40 pixels of space with the “Spacing” slider and choose the background colour; a white gap, for example, looks like a thin dividing line.
Can I put the front and back of my ID card in one image?
Yes. Choose photos of both sides and combine them side by side or stacked. If you need to hand a paper photocopy to an institution, use the ID card copy tool, which gives a watermarked A4 printout.
Can I put three or four photos side by side too?
Yes, up to 30 images can be lined up side by side. The more images there are, the wider the result gets; for four or more, the grid layout looks tidier.
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No. The combining happens in your browser; your photos aren't uploaded to a server and the resulting file contains no location data.
